A Word About Your Hosts
| Several
years ago, we began our search for a property to convert into a bed & breakfast. We
eventually exhausted the possibilities in East & West Texas, and in parts of Arkansas
& Oklahoma, and decided to venture slightly farther North. "Slightly",
because of our fear of severe Winter weather. Richard, a native of Ft. Worth, TX, &
Janet, born in KC, MO (and moved to TX at the age of 5), had long become accustomed to
severely hot summers, mild winters, and almost non-existent Spring & Fall weather.
Ironically, 8 days after our move to Joplin, the area experienced the start of the 3rd or
4th worst winter in recorded history! "Lovely room - delicious breakfast.
Cute Tinker to give us our 'small dog fix'!"
Becky &
Randy, Manchester, MO 1/4 -1/5/03
We searched South and Central Missouri for 16 days, our journey beginning & ending
in Joplin. Upon our return here, we spoke with a different real estate agent who knew
about an old school that had been restored & turned into a B & B, and it was for
sale! This worked very well for us, our construction talents being less than stellar.
A princess would not have felt more
royal--Cindy &
Elizabeth, Pompano Beach, FL. 3/10/06
I t appeared to be Serendipity that brought us to this place, a schoolhouse built in
1907 of red brick & Carthage stone. I have educators in my family, including my late
mother, and Richard's aunt & his late mother both lived in Joplin when they were
young. It's possible that they may have attended classes in this very building!
As for the weather here? Summer, while it had it's share of hot days, was much milder
& shorter than those of N. Texas, and Spring & Fall were glorious! And winter
wasn't so bad, after all! We look forward to what
each year will offer.
"Thank you for sharing your
wonderful
home with us. We hope you will be
very happy here in Prosperity."

miles to Hwy. AA. Turn left (S.) on AA, go one mile & you will see the B & B on
the left (E.) side. From the Tulsa area, from I-44 take exit 11
B (exit 11A & B from the Springfield area) & watch for 249 N (right fork). Go north approximately 3 miles to Zora Rd., turn
right (E.) & go 0.7 mile to 4-way stop at 249/AA, which is Prosperity Ave. Turn left
(N.) Use caution at the 2nd stop sign due to traffic merging from the E. Go
straight ahead an
additional 0.7 mile to the B & B on the right (E).
Another route off of I-44 is to take exit 8B (Rangeline), go north approximately 3.5
miles to Newman Rd. Turn right (E.) on Newman, go 3 miles to Prosperity Ave., then 1.7
